WHO Information session for non-State actors on: Web consultation with non-State actors on their participation in WHO governance

Dear non-State actors,

Thank you for those who participated in the web consultation on non-State actors participation in WHO governance which was conducted from 26 August until 15 September 2019. You may recall that it was organized at the request of the WHO Executive Board, and its purpose was to hear non-State actor views and proposals regarding their participation in WHO governing bodies and potential organization of an informal meeting. The report from the consultation has now been finalized and is available with its annexes on WHO website following this link. The Report by the Director-General  to the 146th session of the Executive Board “WHO Reform: Involvement  of non-State actors in WHO’s governing bodies” which contains the Secretariat’s proposals on non-State actor involvement in WHO governing bodies, based on the findings of the consultation, can be found on this link. This report will be presented to the Executive Board at its 146^th session in February 2019 for its deliberations and decision on the follow up actions.

An information session to non-State actors on the findings of the consultation will be organized at WHO Headquarters, Geneva in Salle D on Monday 16 December 10:00-12:00 Geneva time, which you are kindly invited to participate. If you wish to participate, please register for the session http://reg.unog.ch/e/WHOInformationsession16Dec19  by 12 December 2019 so that a badge can be made ready for you at your arrival to attend the meeting. Kindly bring an identity document with you (passport, ID card) to retrieve your badge.

For your information, the Secretariat is also organizing an information session to the Geneva based Permanent Missions on the findings of the report and the Secretariat’s proposals to the Executive Board on 4 December 2019.

If you cannot attend the non-State actor information session in person, you may join it on WebEx, using tablet, smart phone or personal computer. You need to have a headphone or speaker  and internet connection.  Participants will be able to see the presentations, watch speakers on their screen,  listen to the meeting.  Please find below the links to access the meeting.
