Welcome to Alessandra Tisi
… and farewell to Thomas Schwarz

Dear friends and colleagues,

We are delighted to announce that this week Alessandra Tisi has formally started her job as the new G2H2 Executive Secretary. After an intense and solid in-boarding period with Thomas Schwarz, she is now ready to take the lead and coordinate the platform. Obviously, our support to her must be sealed to this end. Welcoming Alessandra in her new position can in no way be dissociated from our sincere and incommensurable gratitude to Thomas, G2H2 column and historic memory. Not only has Thomas directly fostered the creation of G2H2, but in all these years he has carefully and patiently ensured that this independent platform could strengthen its safe and inclusive space, with the aim to enhance civil society’s critical voice and relevant competence in the Geneva global public health arena.  His unwavering care in doing so stands out as an example of political aspiration, human dedication and personal commitment to challenging conformism and affirming the role that civil society and movements must play not to lose democracy in the intergovernmental sphere.

Working with Thomas has been a sheer privilege, and we all have learnt a lot from him. We now look forward to meeting him in person next January, for a highly-deserved farewell event, and we do wish   him an inspiring retirement time. In this new stage of his personal life, there is no idleness looming at the horizon: others will be enriched by his presence and engagement. We shall miss him, yet rejoice for his new life opportunities and his multiple creative aspirations to become a reality.

Let’s collectively clap to Thomas for his outstanding work, let’s clap to Alessandra for the energy and novelty she will bring to G2H2.
