Global Conference on Primary Health Care, Kazakhstan 25-26 October 2018. WHO calls for expressions of interest to participate in the conference and for side event proposals (Deadline: 24 August 2018)

The call below is quoted from the WHO website (version accessed on 14 August 2018), as a service to G2H2 members and partners. For any enquiries, please refer to the WHO Secretariat.

“On 25-26 October 2018, the world will come together in Astana, Kazakhstan at the Global Conference on Primary Health Care to renew a commitment to primary health care to achieve universal health coverage and the Sustainable Development Goals.

In 1978, a pivotal conference was held in Almaty, Kazakhstan, bringing together health experts and world leaders to commit to health for all. The Declaration of Alma-Ata, endorsed at that conference, formed the foundation for the last 40 years of global primary health care efforts.

This October, the world will reunite to reinvigorate and reaffirm primary health care. The Global Conference will endorse a new declaration which emphasizes the critical role of primary health care around the world, refocusing efforts to ensure that everyone everywhere is able to enjoy the highest possible attainable standard of health.

Are you interested in attending the Global Conference on Primary Health Care?  The conference will be an invite-only event, and we welcome expressions of interest from organizations (civil society, non-governmental, academia, philanthropic, private sector, professional, others) whose work is relevant to primary health care.

  • Please complete the form to register your interest.
  • Your organization can also apply to host a café session or exhibit. Click here to apply.”
