“In order to achieve WHO’s goals of ensuring healthier populations and reducing health inequalities, accelerated action is needed to address the social determinants of health. A Strategic Meeting on Social Determinants of Health will be held on 12-13 September 2019 in Geneva to capitalize on this opportunity and scale up WHO’s work on addressing the social determinants of health. This meeting will identify challenges and opportunities; links with other prevention agendas; and priorities for action. Leading experts in social determinants of health from government, civil society, academia and UN agencies are invited to work with WHO to help shape future directions that are essential to WHO’s contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals.
